apagliflozin 5 mg tablets are primarily used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. The medication may also be used in some cases to lower the risk of complications associated with heart and kidney disease.

Uses

DAPARACE 5 is prescribed for the following conditions:

  • Type 2 Diabetes Treatment Used alone or in combination with other medications (like metformin) to help control high blood sugar levels as an adjunct to diet and exercise. It helps the kidneys remove excess glucose from the bloodstream through urine.: Heart Failure Prevention In adults with type 2 diabetes who have cardiovascular disease or multiple risk factors, it is used to lower the risk of hospitalization for heart failure. It is also approved for heart failure patients (with reduced ejection fraction) to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death and the need for hospitalization or urgent heart failure visits.
  • Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Management It is prescribed to reduce the risk of kidney function decline, end-stage kidney disease, cardiovascular death, and hospitalization for heart failure in adults with CKD (even in some cases where the patient does not:

Please keep the following points in mind while using DAPARACE 5:

  • Dapagliflozin is not used to treat type 1 diabetes.: The dosage for the different indications (type 2 diabetes, heart failure, CKD) varies. While 5 mg may be a starting dose for diabetes, the standard dose for heart failure and chronic kidney disease is typically 10 mg once daily.
  • Do not stop taking dapagliflozin without consulting your doctor, as this can worsen your condition.:
