Atorvastatin is used together with a proper diet to lower cholesterol and triglyceride (fats) levels in the blood. This medicine may help prevent medical problems (eg, chest pain, heart attack, or stroke) that are caused by fats clogging the blood vessels.

Uses

ATORCARE 20 is prescribed for the following conditions:

  • Cholesterol Management: The drug works by blocking an enzyme in the liver responsible for cholesterol production, which decreases "bad" cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein, or LDL) and triglycerides, while increasing "good" cholesterol (high-density lipo: Management of Specific Conditions: It is also prescribed as an adjunct to diet and exercise for patients with specific inherited conditions like familial hypercholesterolemia (both heterozygous and homozygous variants). It may be used in individuals with type 1 or type 2 diabetes or rheumatoid arthritis who have risk factors for heart disease.
